maintain

Maintain were one of the discoveries of 2009 to me. The band from Boston, who amazingly combine in itself the 90s newschool (Strife meet Snapcase’s tunefulness, as it was once said) with a sound of modern melodic hc with an influence of such a bands as Verse and somebody like them. The main feature of this band is to play a very melodic slow part after some juicy breakdown in the middle of the song. Corporally it is listened at one breath, the bold strikes of material and the fury are filling this music in. It all reminds me a late Strife. Also a guitar riffs a-la Snapcase can be found out too (especially in Touching From A Distance). The guys have only 2 releases: a 7” and an LP. 7” sounds more in 90s style, and LP, as I said before, highlights the band much more from the others.

Maintain была одним из открытий 2009 для меня. Группа из Бостона, которая удивительно сочетает в себе нюскул 90-ых (как говорится поздний Strife встречает мелодичность Snapcase) с душком современного мелодика и влиянием таких групп как Verse и прочие из той же компании. Отличительная фишка группы это сыграть очень мелодичный медленный кусок после какого то сочного брейкдауна в середине песни. И в целом это слушается на одном дыхании, ощущается дерзкая подача материала и ярость самой музыки, которая мне очень напонимает поздний Strife. Так же чувствуются гитарки чисто по Snapcase (особенно в Touching From A Distance). У ребят пока что вышло только два релиза: семерочка и полноформатник. Семерочка звучит более в духе 90-ых, а вот полноформатник так как я описал выше и именно он, на мой взгляд, очень выделяет группу.
