You could have understood what does this band mean to me at least from the name of this blogspot. This is the best band in a hardcore history to me. One of the bands, who made a huge contribution into straight edge propaganda. The band, who have left a lot of followers after them. The band’s history starts in 90’s in Los Angeles by the line-up of: Rick Rodney – vocals, Chad Peterson – Bass, Andrew Kline – Guitar, Mike Hartsfield – Guitar (who has also founded the band Outspoken and who was a keeper of legendary label New Age Records), Sid Niesen – Drums. In 91 the guys are recording their first 7” My Fire Burns On…, which Mike releases on his label New Age Records. 3 songs of fast and trembling hardcore (the song Calm the fire has become one of the 90’s hardcore hits). The band plays a lot of gigs and gives a great encourage to the American scene development. For the unknown reasons Mike Hartsfield leaves the band in 92 and Strife write a new 7” with one guitar only. The 7’’ Self Titled (also called From The Past) gives a birth to the label Indecision Records. This is the best 7’’ as for me from the 3 Strife’s EPs ever released. Here you can find an excellent song about straight edge, All From The Past – We’ll spread the message and make it clear. We’ll spread the message for everyone to hear. So come with us and let’s all join hands. To make hatred, prejudice, and drugs all from the past! The last song, Still Rise, is one of the best from the band’s creativity. I would give an arm and a leg to sing along It Burns!In my heart! with them. In addition, there is a cool acoustic riff in the beginning of a song. Many bands started adding such a parts in their songs too. The band have caught and eye of Victory Records and all the next Strife’s releases were out from it. The album of Unbroken Life.Love.Regret. is called the best in 90’s history, but I would consider them much as a metalcore, and the best hardcore album is One Truth, released by Strife in 94. I can’t really tell how much I love this album. The times passed, my tastes were changing, but that was an album, I have listened to for all the time. From a first second of Through And Through and a small fire burns inside your eyes, fists are clenching and the heart starts beating faster and you can’t but notice as the words There is only one truth…there is only one truth…there is only one truth…one truth!!!! are out from the lips. It is even hard to write about it now, because this song now is playing in my columns and the blood is boiling from emotions. You can’t take a rest and the song What Will Remain is becoming a new blast of a brain. The thing I like about Strife is their sharp passages from fast tempo to slow rocking music. And you are rocking in time and sing What remain? What remain? I will remain!!! Really, all the songs on LP are very awesome and there won’t be a place in blog, if I describe all of them. At least I would highlight the song Still Rise, which was re-recorded from 92’s seven, Am I The Only One, To The Surface and very cool acoustic song Slipping. This 14 songs will stay the best for me in their legacy. They can’t make you tired of them. Every time, when you are listening to them, you find something new, while reading the lyrics again and again you are grasping a new things. This is certainly the best album. Despite the band produced some more releases, I think, I will end by this. Listen and admire!

Что значит для меня эта группа вы должны были догодатся как минимум из названия этого блогспота. Для меня это лучшая группа за всю историю хардкор музыки. Одна из групп которые внесли огромный вклад в пропаганду стрейт еджа. Группа которая оставила после себя множество последователей. История группы начинается в начале 90-ых в Лос Анджелесе в таком составе: Rick Rodney – vocals, Chad Peterson – Bass, Andrew Kline – Guitar, Mike Hartsfield – Guitar (который также основал Outspoken и который руководил легендарный лейблом New Age Records), Sid Niesen – Drums. В 91 ребята пишут первую семерку My Fire Burns On… которую Mike издает на своем лейбле New Age Records. 3 песни быстрого качающего хардкора (песня Calm The Fire вобще стала одним из хитов хардкора 90-ых). Группа дает довольно много концертов и вносит новый дух в развитие американской сцены. По неизвестным мне причинам в 92 группу покидает Mike Hartsfield и Strife пишут вторую семерку только с одной гитарой. Семерка Self Titled (или как некоторые ее называют From The Past) дает начало деятельности лейбла Indecision Records. Это лучшая семерка по моему мнению из 3 EP, которые издавали Strife. Именно здесь отличная песня о стейт едже All From The Past – We’ll spread the message and make it clear. We’ll spread the message for everyone to hear. So come with us and let’s all join hands. To make hatred, prejudice, and drugs all from the past! Последняя песня Still Rise для меня одна из лучшых в творчестве группы. Я бы многое отдал чтобы подпевать на всю глотку It Burns!In my heart! Кстати в начале песни очень крутой акустический проиграш и потом очень много групп начали добавлять такое в свои песни. Группой начинает интересоватся лейбл Victory Records и все следующие релизы Strife выходят именно там. Альбом Unbroken Life.Love.Regret. называют лучшых за всю историю 90-ых но я бы отнес Unbroken больше к металкору,а вот лучшым среди нюскул хардкора безусловно является One Truth который Strife издали в 94. Невозможно передать как сильно я люблю этот альбом. На протяжении времени мои музыкальнык вкусы так или иначе менялись, но вот именно этот альбом я слушал всегда. С первой секунды Through And Through в глазах зажигается какой-то огонек, сжимаются кулаки и начинает быстрее биться сердце и ты уже сам не замечаешь как с твоих губ срывается There is only one truth…there is only one truth…there is only one truth…one truth!!!! Мне даже писать сейчас сложно так как с колонок играет эта песня и кровь просто закипает от накапливаемых емоций. Не успеешь передохнуть как новым взрывом мозга становится What Will Remain. Что мне очень нравится у Strife так это ихние резкие переходы от быстрого темпа к медленной качающей музыке. И ты снова покачиваешься в такт всем телом и поешь What remain?What remain?I will remain!!! На самом деле на альбоме все песни очень крутые и если я буду описывать каждую просто не хватит места в блоге. Разве что выделаю песню Still Rise которую переписали с семерки 92, Am I The Only One, To The Surface и очень крутую акустическую Slipping. Для меня эти 14 песен навсегда останутся лучшыми в их творчестве. Эти песни не могут надоесть. Каждый раз слушая их находишь для себя что-то новое, каждый раз читая эти строчки по-новому воспринимаешь разные вещи...Это безусловно лучшый альбом! Хоть и группа выпустила после этого еще несколько релизов, я всетаки пожалуй на этом закончу. Слушайте и восхищайтесь!
